Seminar "Liturgical Objects and Silversmithing in the Central-Southern Bulgaria (15th–19th centuries): Facts, Interpretations, Perspectives"

This seminar is part of the research project "Liturgical objects in the context of silversmiths' art during the Ottoman period (Based on Materials from the Plovdiv Diocese)", which is funded by the Bulgarian Scientific Fund (contract no. КП-06-M80/2, 7 December 2023). The Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) organised a seminar entitled "Liturgical Objects and Silversmithing in the Central-Southern Bulgaria (15th–19th Centuries): Facts, Interpretations, Perspectives". The results of the research project were presented during the seminar by Asst. Dr. Darina Boykina, the principal researcher of the project. Questions related to the historical and artistic context of the liturgical objects from the period, preserved in museum and church collections today, were discussed.

The seminar took place on 4 December at 11:30 a.m. in Hall 1 of the Institute of Art Studies at 21 Krakra Street, Sofia.
