
Seminar “Liturgical Objects and Silversmithing in the Central-Southern Bulgaria (15th–19th centuries): Facts, Interpretations, Perspectives”
This seminar is part of the research project “Liturgical objects in the context of silversmiths’ art during the Ottoman period (Based on Materials from the Plovdiv Diocese)”, which is funded by the Bulgarian Scientific Fund (contract no. КП-06-M80/2, 7 December 2023). The Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) organised a seminar entitled “Liturgical Objects and Silversmithing in the Central-Southern Bulgaria (15th–19th Centuries): Facts, Interpretations, Perspectives”. The results of the research project were presented during the seminar by Asst. Dr. Darina Boykina, the principal researcher of the project. Questions related to the historical and artistic context of the liturgical objects from the period, preserved in museum and church collections today, were discussed.
The seminar took place on 4 December at 11:30 a.m. in Hall 1 of the Institute of Art Studies at 21 Krakra Street, Sofia.

National Conference Forum Restoration, 19–20 November 2024
A paper entitled “On Two Liturgical Fans (Rhipidions) from the mid-19th Century” was presented at the traditional national scientific conference organized by the Association of Restorers in Bulgaria. The paper presented the preliminary results of the study of unpublished fragments of a pair of liturgical fans from the collection of the Regional Ethnographic Museum in Plovdiv.

International Scientific Conference “Southeast European Silversmithing: Artisans, Donors, and the Concept of Piety during the Early Modern Period”, 17–18 October 2024
The scientific team of the project presented their ongoing research at the International Scientific Conference “Southeast European Silversmithing: Artisans, Donors, and the Concept of Piety during the Early Modern Period”, organized by the Institute for Art Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and funded by the National Scientific Fund, contract No. КП-06-М80/2/7.12.2023 г. During the scientific forum, which is part of the work programme of the project “Liturgical Objects in the Context of Silversmith’s Art during the Ottoman Period (Based on Materials from the Diocese of Plovdiv)”, five papers were presented to the scientific community and the interested public on the following topics:

National scientific conference “Sevlievo through the Centuries: Historical Dimensions, Events, Personalities”, 26–28 September 2024
Results of the initial fieldwork on the project were presented in the paper “A Box for a Cross, Sevlievo and the Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary” at the National Scientific Conference “Sevlievo through the Centuries: Historical Dimensions, Events, Personalities”.

European Association of Biblical Studies Annual Conference 2024, 15–18 July 2024
On 16 July, during the International Scientific Conference of the European Association for Biblical Studies, held at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, a paper entitled “Notes on the Iconographic Program of the post-Byzantine Treasury Gospel Bindings” was presented. In the paper, the preliminary results of the research conducted within the project are discussed.

International conference Art Readings 2024: Art and History
11 – 13 April 2024
On 12th April one member of the project participated in the international conference Art Readings 2024. Old Art Module: Art and History, organized by Institute of Art Studies, Bulgarian academy of sciences. The paper discussed liturgical objects from Plovdiv churches:
